The Great Battle 2018 is a South Korean history, war, and action film directed by Kim Kwang-sik. Starring Jo In-sung and Nam Joo-hyuk.
The Great Battle Plot
The film is about the blockade of the Ansi Fortress against the invasion of Tang forces over Goguryeo. Led by Commander Yang Manchun, his bravery and devotion to protecting the Ansi people against the attack of Tang Dynasty men made a remarkable history during the war. Despite the fact that Commander Yang Manchun together with his supporters the Ansi people who stood alongside Yang Manchun’s fight were proclaimed traitors by Yeon Gaesomun (a powerful military dictator in the waning days of the Goguryeo Kingdom).
The film shows more about the Ansi people’s high morale, strong desire to win the battle, sacrifice one’s life, and technique that bring triumph to Yang Manchun’s people over Tang’s troops.
